Gospel of John Series Part 14: Resurrection Life
Scripture: John 20
John 20 presents the resurrection as the unveiling of the kind of life he gives. The disciples struggle to recognize what Jesus is doing, even when he is right in front of them. Their confusion exposes a deeper human problem: we naturally search for life, glory, beauty, and power in forms we already understand, and so we often miss Jesus himself.
This message traces three movements: life of Jesus, life in Jesus, and life with Jesus. The crucified and risen Christ reveals the true character of God. He shares his own life with his people through the Holy Spirit. And he opens the way to resurrection for all humanity and the renewal of all things. The invitation is not simply to admire Jesus, benefit from Jesus, or agree with ideas about Jesus, but to receive his life and be transformed by him.
